Every key you lend out is a key you don't get back. A cleaner, an engineer, a tenant who moves out: with an ordinary cylinder that means replacing the whole door at some point.
With a key safe or an access reader you give out access instead of keys. You set up a code ready for the day the engineer comes and remove it again afterwards. With a badge reader everyone gets their own card, and you can also look back at who was inside and when.
For rentals, holiday homes and business premises, that is the difference between an appointment on site and a message in the app.
